Abbot’s Cliff – Folkestone – Kent

Abbot’s Cliff beach is located to the West of Samphire Hoe Country Park. Samphire Hoe is a piece of land created by the construction of the Channel Tunnel.

Samphire Hoe Visitor Centre, Samphire Road, Dover CT17 9FL. Head West (turn right) on foot for about half a mile. Route may be cut off at high tide.

Old Dover Road, Capel-le-Ferne, Folkstone, CT18 7HT. Take the footpath and cross the railway foot bridge. Head East (turn left) on foot for a further half a mile. Steep cliff walk.

Abbot’s Cliff is shingle, and backed by cliffs. If using the Samphire Hoe Visitor Centre it may be cut off by high tide but it can also be reached from Folkestone or Capel le Ferne by foot.
