One Review For Clover Spa Hotel

  • Andy Crawford Writes:

As a rule I don’t like hotels. I find them stuffy, pompous, overpriced with overly rich food, and I would generally prefer a chalet in the woods or a self-catering apartment to a hotel. But Tim Higgs, the owner of Clover Spa has changed my opinion. Hotels can actually be good.

On arrival, the staff were down to earth and friendly, as opposed to having the typical ‘yes-sir, no-sir’ attitude which normally prevails in ‘good’ hotels, or the ‘don’t care’ attitude at the lower end of the scale. As soon as you are inside, the whole place is fully naturist so there are no issues about how to dress for the bar or what to wear in the spa. Plus the hotel has a sauna, steam room, outdoor hot-tub with lawns with as many towel changes as you like. The bar serves drinks and simple light meals at prices which don’t make your eyes water.

Hotels are not ‘cheap’ and neither is Clover Spa, but the standard of accommodation, the ambience and the whole package makes this place excellent value for money. I would highly recommend it and look forward to going back again soon. Whether that be for a daytime visit or a stay over, it is worth travelling to. If I could, I would give it more than 5 Stars.
